Great news about Red Rose Primary School receiving praise in “The Houses of Parliament” from Nick Gibbs for our ability to teach reading.  The 95% success rate for Early Years Reading now puts us in the top 8% of schools throughout the country.  What an achievement!

This is just one of the many achievements that happen in Red Rose Primary School and we are constantly striving to produce well rounded and education young people. This term has started, as it always does, with classes settling into the varied programmes. We launched the Radio 2 ‘500 Word Challenge’ on Monday 16th January with an online lesson about how to write a short story – Year 5 and 6 loved it.

Year 3 and 4 had an exceptional educational visit to the Oriental Museum in Durham to enhance their ‘Egyptians’ topic.

Our corridors look amazing with art work and twinkling lights making the corridor walk a trip through the a Winter Wonderland.

eSafety is always a never ending learning process for us all, pupils are reminded frequently about the opportunities and the dangers of being in an ‘online world’. Our recent newsletter has more information on this important area.
Another busy and learning term lies ahead.
